As a condition precedent to the enactment of the

proposed Bill intituled -

"An Ordinance to extend for a further period the

powers granted by the Mercantile Bank Note Issue

Ordinance 1911, to the Mercantile Bank of India Limited,

to make, issue, reissue and circulate notes in the Colony"

WE. THE MERCANTILE BANK OF INDIA LIMITED, hereby undertake

that no amalgamation scheme with another banking institution

(whether in the nature of a purchase or sale of the whole

undertaking or a purchase of shares or any joint working or

profit sharing arrangement or otherwise) to which the Bank

may be a party will be carried out during the continuance

of the powers in connection with the issue by the Bank of

notes without the prior approval of the competent department

of His Majesty's Government in Great Britain.
